Conference 2010

The goal of 'Aha Kane 2010 is to address the issues of Native Hawaiian male leadership and community involvement by focusing on the cultural history and the roles of Native Hawaiian men in the past, present and future. 'Aha Kane 2010 offers a diverse venue of support services, educational programs, health presentations, and cultural workshops to increase our awareness and empower Native Hawaiian kane to fulfill our roles and responsibilities amongst ourselves, as well as within our families and our respective communities.

Activities include: Ho'okuku Ha'iolelo Hawaiian Language Oration Competition, Health Screenings, Lomilomi, and various athletic competitions! Chants and Hula Kahiko workshops, traditional warrior arts demonstrations.

Online Registration

Online registration to participate in 'Aha Kane 2010 is available through http://ahakane.eventbrite.com/. Online registration is open until Friday, June 11th, 2010. Thereafter, participants will need to register on site at Windward Community College, Friday (June 18th) morning at 8:00AM. Please see frequently asked questions for further details.

Online Scholarship Registration

Online scholarship application submissions are available through http://ahakanescholarship.eventbrite.com/. Each applicant should apply through one appropriate scholarship ticket to fit their financial needs to attend this event: 1) Airfare only ($100), 2) Registration only ($120), 3) Airfare and Partial Registration ($160). Someone will contact you by May 27th if you have been awarded funds.

Note: Applying for scholarship does not ensure free registration or airfare to 'Aha Kane 2010. If you have not received a confirmation of scholarship acceptance by Thursday, May 27, 2010 please make plans for other funding sources and register online or via mail thereafter.
